What Is The Synaptic Maintenance Retainer?
It is an annual service offered exclusively to customers that have had a site built by Synaptic Systems and includes the following:
WordPress Updates
We’ll monitor your site quarterly (minimum). When a WordPress update is available, we’ll make sure that your site is updated with the latest version of WordPress BUT ONLY AFTER we know that the version is stable and will not clash with other plugins ‘we’ have installed.
Plugin Updates
We’ll monitor your site quarterly (minimum). When a plugin update is available, we’ll make sure that your site is updated with the latest version of that plugin BUT ONLY AFTER we know that the version is stable and will not clash with other plugins ‘we’ have installed.
2 Hours Of Our Time
Additionally, you get 2 hours of time that you can use over the year for things like:
- Widget Tweaks
- Forms Tweaks
- Page / Post entries
- CSS Styling Tweaks
- Training
- Consultation
You can use this time however you want, whenever you want. That said, this is a not a middle of the night offer or ‘mission critical I need you in the next 3 minutes type of thing’!
40% Discount On Additional Hours
Depending on the needs (theme tweaks, CSS, PHP, SEO) our charge out rates are from $75.00 – $120.00 per hour. If you have this retainer service, you get a 40% discount on any additional time you might need.
What This Does Not Include
The great things about WordPress is the availability of so many different open source plugins that you can download, install and use for free. Many of these are written by coders who adhere strictly to coding standards. However, sometimes plugin updates can cause problems (a loss of functionality) and/or conflicts with other plugins. That’s why we are very careful to use plugins that we know to be stable. We simply can not ‘guarantee’ that all plugins will always co-operate with one another. What we can promise is to bring to bear our knowledge and the additional resources we have in the form of relationships with some of the coders, and our paid subscriptions to forums that you do not have access to.
This service does not include site backup and restore services. This is a function of your hosting service BUT if you have it, we will happily restore your site for you.
What Does It Cost?
The base rate for this service is $400.00 per year (+ GST for Canadian residents)
$500.00 for more complex websites.
